This piece if 100% hand fabricated from plate; cut into sections and soldered together to make the hollow three dimensional form. If sterling silver, the sheet metal is made by hand. The silver is melted and rolled out into plate.
Foldforming is the process of folding metal. Sheet metal is heated (annealed) and folded, like paper, by being hammered around an anvil. The process of folding and unfolding gives way to many possible line patterns and geometries.
|Colors:||DR: Dirty Brass. This color is accomplished by burning the metal to the point that it releases its impurities and self colorizes. This patina occurs from within, no chemical was added to the surface.|
